Cabildo Alley in the French Quarter, a photograph from my website, Virtually New Orleans

I have been doing web development since 1994.  In the beginning, my philosophy in terms of working on and with web sites was to develop things as a loss leader for my consulting practice.  The focus was not so much on the content, but rather on the system that delivered that content to the rest of the world.

Over time, of course, showing off quality design and content has become as important as the ability to deliver that content.  As a result, I've learned a good bit about design, and I hope that learning is reflected in my pages.  The tools that I use to develop web content have obviously changed a good bit over the last few years as well.

This section of my home site has a twofold purpose:  First, it will serve as a means by which prospective clients can get a deatailed look at what I'm capable of in terms of web development.  Second, I want to provide a place where newcomers to web development, particularly friends I have met on ICQ and/or PowWow, can get some pointers on what they'll need to get started.
