New Kit
Saw the new kit last night. Looks good, in spite of the lack of color. Home
is white with two vertical black stripes on the right, and a Storm logo in a small shield
patch on the upper left chest. The away strip has the colors reversed. The
team has no sponsorship deal worked out as of yet, so the chest space is for rent.
Now would be a good time to buy the kit if you don't want to be somebody's walking
commercial.
DC United
Met some of the players at a little gathering at HyTopps, the sports bar in the Hyatt
Hotel next to the Superdome. Harkes, Wegs, Agoos, Etcheverry were there--didn't see
Diaz Arce, but he's also supposed to play tonight.
Storm Merchandise
The players and coaches were decked out in Umbro polo shirts, white with black trim,
last night. The shirt has the storm patch on the left, and the Umbro diamond trim on
the sleeves. The left collar has UMBRO and the diamond logo. Looks really
nice. The front office folks assured me there will be tons of stuff available for
sale tonight. I'll try to make a list and get it up here. We'll eventually set
up a method for purchasing Storm merchandise through the 'net as the season goes along.
