Comments on the DC United Match 03/05/98

(Click here for the formal Match Report)

The weather threatened, but 3,500+ fans still came out to Zephyr Field to see the team's debut as the New Orleans Storm.  Since I am the proud father of the hardest working ball manager in the A-League (Justin, age 9), we arrived at the ballpark about an hour and a half early so Justin could assume his pre-game duties.  While waiting, I wandered around, taking in the on-going effort to turn a baseball park into a soccer stadium.

Parking

Zephyr Field has the best parking situation of any sports venue in the metro New Orleans Area.  The UNO Lakefront Arena is a close second, but the year-old, all-new blacktop lot of the ballpark wins hands down.
