1998 Team Overview

A-League Soccer is alive and well in New Orleans.  The New Orleans Storm, formerly the Gamblers, are back for another season and ready to defend their division championship.

Aside from the name change and the new kit (black and white colors), the main difference will be the team's new playing ground, Zephyr Field in Metairie.  The Gamblers played the Dallas Burn at the ballpark last season in their US Open Cup match, before the largest crowd ever to see an A-League team in New Orleans (over 6,000).

We don't exactly know who is returning from last season yet, but we do know that Stern John (F) has been signed by the Columbus Crew of MLS, so he definitely won't wear a Storm uniform.
