So, here lie my thoughts on computer programs for the Macintosh...
If you are here it is probably because you are in some way related to photography,
so I'll spotlight image editors ( photo manipulation )
software and one HTML editor that has made my Pinhole Resource Online Site
a possibility.
Color It! 3.0
by MicroFrontier
Full Photographic editing and powerfull painting tools...
Want to own a great photo editor that is logically organized and does
not need a ton of RAM to run?
"Color It" 3.0 is now available for a street price around $100.
Free upgrade to 3.5 ( coming soon spring '96 ) which will add layer commands
and the ability to save in the Compuserve GIF format (if that is important
to you). This program does everthing I need an image editor for and a whole
lot more. Powerful painting tools and an interface that seems friendlier
than that big program you probably learned on. This app. ships on two discs,
so it doesn't hog your hard drive. The approximately 150 page manual is
pretty, concise, clear and comprehensible. I wish I had learned on this program
and manual. The interface looks and is professional in every way. Don't
let the price fool you, it's simply a true bargain.

Web page authoring for the novice...
If you are an experienced HTML code writer please do not bother to
send me hate mail. Even though this program will not let you create the
latest gee gaws in cutting edge HTML, it will help you get your pages onto
the net fast. Spend your time improving your pages, learning how to use
an image editor or gardening ( yuck ), not learning to write HTML code.
This program does not allow you to wrap text around photos, but this is
my only major complaint.
For under $100 it is a bargain and it allowed me create these pages
and Pinhole Resource Online without knowing a lick of HTML.
Available everywhere... Back to my (Richard's) home menu page.
