New Orleans Weather Facts -- SpringSpringtime in New Orleans -- DescriptionSpringtime is the biggest time for New Orleans tourism. In terms of both dollars and numbers of visitors to the city, springtime is busier than even Carnival. Spring Fiesta, the French Quarter Festival, and Jazz Fest lead the pack. Spring is the busiest time for the Convention Center, as many large organizations regularly come to New Orleans at this time of the year. Spring weather alternates between nice and wet. Early spring (late March and April) are usually nice, with the occasional thunderstorm in the afternoon and a few totally nasty days. May tends to be very wet. The worst flood conditions over the last 20 years not related to a hurricane have occurred in May. Your trip to New Orleans during the Spring will give you the opportunity to enjoy the city without the oppressive heat of the summer. Afternoons will still get up into the 80s, and up into the 90s in June, but early-to-mid-Spring will be moderate. Your strolls along the riverfront and through the Quarter will be comfortable, and you may even need a sweater for that dinnertime riverboat cruise. Temperature
