Introduction
Every year during the month of June, many Catholic churches all across
the Gulf Coast hold novenas to Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Now, we
Catholics pray to Our Lady of This and Our Lady of That, but saying an
extra prayer or two to Our Lady of Prompt Succor in June is important.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor is who Catholics call upon for protection
during hurricane season. We know these dangerous storms brew in the
Caribbean and the Gulf. There’s no stopping that. What we hope and
pray for is that they stay away from our homes and towns.
