Top Ten Things for Kids in
New Orleans
The Audubon Zoo

The Audubon Zoo is a great place for a family
outing. We're members of the Audubon Institute,
and go regularly. From the lions and tigers Asian
Domain to the bears in the Louisiana Swamp,
there's lots to make a kid say "Oh,
my!"
If you're coming to New Orleans in the summer,
definitely plan to do the Zoo in the morning. You
don't want to be out in the afternoon heat doing
that much walking. Take the streetcar or a Zoo
Cruise from downtown to the Zoo, spend the
morning exploring, then head back to the CBD for
the afternoon. The Audubon Institute's other big
attraction, the Aquarium of the Americas, makes a
great way to spend the afternoon on the same day.
It's air conditioned, inside, and less spread
out.
For more info on the zoo, jump to the Audubon
Institute Home Page.
