Top Ten Things for Kids in
New Orleans

The Louisiana Superdome, site
of many sporting
events that are great for kids.
When the Denver Broncos won the AFC
championship in 1989, and the right to compete in
Super Bowl XXIV in New Orleans, Broncos owner Pat
Bowlen was happy to be going to the Big Game. His
happiness didn't extend to his family, however,
because he made some comments to the press to the
effect that he didn't think it appropriate to
bring children to New Orleans. When his comments
were published here, there was a good bit of
outrage, given the many things we have to offer
families with children. Even though Bowlen's
comments are almost a decade old, we still
dedicate this list to him.
Yes, it is not only OK to bring children to
New Orleans, but they'll probably have a great
time as well. The city gets a certain reputation
from conventioneers, students partying during
Carnival, and folks who come to hang out in clubs
and on Rue Bourbon. In fact, many of the things
tagged as "kid stuff" on this list are
actually fun for adults as well.
The List is presented in reverse order, saving
the best for last.
