Virtual Irish Channel
It's not hard to figure out which ethnic group first settled into
this section of town. The Channel is the spiritual heart of the
Irish community in New Orleans even to this day. There's more
to the Channel than the Irish, however; a large German group settled
into the area as well Combine this with the increasing number
of African-Americans in the neighborhood and it's truly a melting
pot of cultures and peoples. Come take a bit of a tour through
one of the more interesting neighborhoods in New Orleans.
