It's that time, f'sure. Jazz Fest Weekend One starts Friday. We've got the schedules, stages and times on the Fest Page, and some thoughts from me on what I'll be listening to and eating. This picture ought to get you in the mood. The Congo Square Stage is named in honor of the area in Treme where the very first Jazz Fest was held. The original Congo Square is now located in Armstrong Park. The stage is typical of what you'll find at the Fest, where music is performed either on a stage like this or on a stage inside a large tent (like Economy Hall or the Gospel Tent).
I can't wait--The funky Meters, Pete Fountain, Santana to see, crawfish bread, softshell crab po-boy, Crawfish Monica, and a whole lot more to eat!
This photo was shot by me, Ed. Branley, with my trusty Nikon EM.
