Featured Restaurants

This page is a listing of restaurants that we are "featuring." They're here for a number of reasons: we've been talking about the place on the New Orleans Internet Mailing List or on rec.food.restaurants; they're a sponsor of Virtually New Orleans; or maybe a restaurant is here because I went there last week and enjoyed the meal. Check 'em out!

3636 St. Charles

Formerly Jason's, same owners, new chef, good food.

Andrea's and Anacapri

Chef Andrea Apuzzo's restaurants Metairie and the French Quarter, respectively. Excellent Creole-Italian cuisine.

Antoine's

One of Ed's Classic, Must-Visit New Orleans Restaurants, Antoine's is one of the oldest continuously-operating restaurants in the country.

Brennan's

417 Royal Street in the Quarter

Breakfast at Brennan's is one of Ed's Classics. Dinner's pretty good, too!

Cafe Maspero

601 Decatur Street in the Quarter
One of Ed's Top-Ten Burger Places, and the best pastrami sandwich in town.

Coffee and Beignets in New Orleans

Review of Cafe' du Monde and Morning Call

Copeland's

Al Copeland's (of Popeye's fame) chain of "Cajun-American Cafes." One of Ed's Top-Ten Burger Places. Also good for brunch; read a review of our recent brunch trip.

Delmonico.

An institution on St. Charles Avenue for over a century.

Midnight Star Cafe.

Nice place near the lakefront.

Parasol's.

St. Patrick's Day headquarters and arguably one of the best po-boy places in town.

Siam Cafe'.

The former location of Ruby Red's, it's an interesting Thai place.

Tujague's

Creole cuisine from the second-oldest restaurant in town. Candidate for the funkiest restaurant in New Orleans.

Uglesich's

Undoubtedly one of the most low-rent places in town, and home to one of the best oyster loafs.

West End Cafe.

Next to Midnight Star, but a more traditional New Orleans place.
