I wove my first web using a text editor.  Over time, I've used a number of different tools, but I have never really taken to one as I have to NetObjects Fusion.

My first attempt to describe NetObjects Fusion (NOF) to a colleague was to say "it's FrontPage without all the Microsoft baggage."  In other words, the program is essentially as easy to use as FrontPage, but you don't need to be on a server with the Microsoft extensions installed to make your site work.  NOF generates HTML code that can be used on any server, which is great from the developer's point of view.

My favorite thing about NOF is how easy it is to design a SiteStyle, the overall theme of a website.  This page (and my whole home site) uses a stock style included with NOF 3.0 called "Elasticity"  Those stock SiteStyles make it very easy to get a page up and moving quickly.  For those sites that require a more custom look, the SiteStyle configuring process is so simple that even a graphics-challenged guy like me can handle it.

Fusion is also good at allowing the developer to add in specialized code, such as Cold Fusion commands, or JavaScript, VBScript, or ActiveX components.
